Once upon a time, Karl and Tiffany met through friends and shared laughter. By that evening they were pinned — Tiffany wore a hedgehog pin and Karl, a whale.

From that point on their nicknames stuck and they were forever

Hog & Whale.

For the past 11 years, Tiffany and Karl traversed this country living in Seattle & Houston, and made Puyallup their home in 2022 with their Goonies, an ectrodactyl (means fewer toes) cat named Sloth and a polydactyl (means more toes) cat named Hester Chester Chunk.

2025 challenged the two of them. Their household changed with an abrupt exit in early February.
On April 19th, an inebriated driver crashed his car into their kitchen at their gas meter! It caused a gas leak and a five block evacuation which left them without heat, hot water, and a kitchen for over 6 months. Heat and hot water is restored, but the entire downstairs and kitchen is still under construction.

In October, Tiffany was in a car accident where she was sandwiched between two cars and side swiped by a semi-truck! The car is totaled and fortunately no injuries.

They weathered it all, and stayed standing together, taller and stronger.

They decided to elope in the Black Forest, Germany where many fairytales originate since they once had a lovely vacation in idyllic Baden Baden. This year to celebrate their 11th anniversary on 12/13/25, they booked a stay at a medieval castle in Gernsbach on the northern reaches of the Black Forest.

Tiffany and Karl found a creek behind a 500 year old church dedicated to Mother Mary, and exchanged their vows at 3:33pm in the misty forest.

Afterwards, as darkness descended, they ventured out of the woods and into town to cheers with gluhwein (mulled wine) at the Christmas Market.

They are delighted to invite you to celebrate with us at our
Happily Ever After Party!
